This role is about taking full responsibility for the design, construction, commissioning, and handover of Mechanical, Electrical, and Process upgrade works at a major wastewater treatment facility in the North Leinster.
It’s a position suited to someone with solid technical expertise and proven on-site leadership, ready to deliver a project to the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

Site Project Engineer Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project planning software (advantageous).
- Collaborative team player with the ability to prioritise and deliver under tight schedules.
- Keen to learn, adapt, and progress within the water and wastewater sector.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Mechanical or Environmental Engineering.
- Relevant third-level qualification in Mechanical or Environmental Engineering (or similar discipline).
- Full EU/Irish driving licence.
As a Site Project Engineer:
- Lead and coordinate engineers, safety staff, and M&E installation teams on-site.
- Represent the project in client and coordination meetings, ensuring clear communication and follow-through.
- Oversee PSDP and PSCS responsibilities, keeping health and safety at the forefront.
- Drive a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability across all HSQE matters.
- Manage project documentation, including audits, reports, method statements, subcontractor records, and signage.
- Plan and schedule all construction activities, ensuring programmes stay on track.
- Handle procurement and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Review costs, monitor budgets, and report regularly on progress.
- Research and advise on alternative construction methods and equipment where beneficial.
- Deliver project closeout, including full safety file and handover documentation.
- Plan and oversee the commissioning and validation of plant, process, and mechanical systems.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, process proving, and handover documentation.
- Maintain strong day-to-day communication with ER and RE staff, working as part of a positive and proactive team.
- Ensure environmental and ecological requirements are integrated into project delivery.
- Keep programmes updated weekly and monthly as required.
