BIM Engineer Skills:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience in infrastructure or industrial project environments (e.g., water, wastewater, energy, utilities).
- Excellent command of BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks; knowledge of Civil 3D, BIM 360 (Autodesk Construction Cloud), Dynamo, or similar is a plus.
- Strong understanding of BIM standards, protocols, and industry best practices.
- Effective communicator, able to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and quality.
- Ambitious and proactive, keen to develop into a leadership role and manage a growing team.
- 5 years experience.
As a BIM Engineer:
- Lead BIM development and implementation for engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate closely with design, construction, and operations teams to create coordinated, high-quality BIM models.
- Ensure BIM workflows and models comply with standards (e.g., BS EN ISO 19650, UK BIM Framework).
- Support design reviews, clash detection, and quality control in coordination with other disciplines.
- Manage and improve BIM tools, templates, and processes to optimize efficiency.
- Provide ongoing BIM training and technical guidance to project teams and junior staff.
- Engage in cross-functional coordination, including structural, MEP, civil design, and specialist engineering disciplines.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring BIM resources align with project goals.
- Stay informed about emerging BIM technologies and advise on innovation and best practices.
