The Role BIM Engineer
As BIM Engineer you will be embedded on a live data centre construction project in Milan, working within a structured digital delivery team. This is a site based BIM role where coordination, accuracy and speed matter.
You will produce and manage high quality 3D models and 2D installation drawings, maintain federated models and lead clash detection processes to ensure that mechanical and electrical services are fully coordinated before installation. Your work will directly impact programme, productivity and quality on a fast paced mission critical build.
Key Responsibilities
• Produce and develop coordinated 3D BIM models in line with project standards
• Generate clear 2D coordination and installation drawings for site teams
• Run regular clash detection reports and manage the clash resolution process
• Maintain and update federated models on a daily basis
• Work closely with MEP Coordinators, Engineers and subcontractors to resolve design and installation issues
• Attend BIM and coordination meetings with internal teams and specialist subcontractors
• Carry out site surveys, model verification and support point cloud integration where required
• Maintain drawing registers and ensure strict version control across the project
• Support the BIM Lead with reporting, documentation and digital delivery planning
• Assist with BIM input on tender submissions when required
About You
• Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Services or related discipline
• Minimum two years experience in a BIM Engineer or MEP BIM coordination role
• Strong working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks and 3D coordination tools
• Experience on data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or large commercial construction projects is advantageous
• Confident working in a live construction environment
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple model updates and deadlines
• Clear communicator who can explain coordination issues to site teams and subcontractors
• Detail focused with a commitment to producing accurate, clash free models
• Professional, resilient and solution driven
