Commissioning Manager – Data Centre Construction

Continued growth has created the need for an experienced Commissioning Manager to take a key role on a flagship Italian project.
The Role – Commissioning Manager
As Commissioning Manager, you will take full ownership of the commissioning strategy and execution for a large scale data centre project in Italy. You will lead the commissioning process from early design input through to integrated systems testing, client handover, and operational readiness.
This is a senior, site based role with significant responsibility for quality, programme certainty, and client satisfaction on a mission critical facility.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and manage the overall commissioning plan for mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems
• Lead and coordinate commissioning activities across MEP contractors, vendors, and specialist subcontractors
• Ensure commissioning is fully integrated with construction sequencing and project programme
• Chair commissioning meetings and report progress to senior project leadership and the client team
• Manage pre functional testing, functional performance testing, IST, and seasonal testing
• Ensure all commissioning documentation, scripts, and records are completed accurately and on time
• Drive quality assurance and compliance with client, regulatory, and international data centre standards
• Support client witnessing, handover, and transition to operations
• Maintain a strong focus on health and safety throughout all commissioning activities
About You
• Strong background in MEP, building services engineering, or mission critical construction
• Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager or Senior Commissioning Engineer on data centre projects
• In depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems within mission critical environments
• Experience delivering commissioning on large scale or hyperscale data centres is highly desirable
• Excellent leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
• Highly organised with a methodical approach to quality and documentation
• Comfortable working on site in Italy within an international project team
