Mechanical Commissioning Engineer – Data Centre Project

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery of the mechanical commissioning package on a major data centre project based in Gävle, Sweden.

This is a site-based role suited to an engineer with strong mechanical systems knowledge who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment and collaborating closely with commissioning leadership, project teams and specialist vendors. You will play a key role in ensuring mechanical systems are installed, tested and commissioned safely, efficiently and in line with approved specifications, contributing to a successful handover of a high-value data centre facility.

Mechanical Commissioning Engineer Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a recognised mechanical trade background with strong commissioning experience
• Previous experience in a mechanical commissioning or mechanical engineering role within construction
• Experience working on data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or mission-critical projects is highly advantageous
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems including chillers, AHUs, CRAH units, pumps and pipework
• Good knowledge of commissioning procedures, testing protocols and handover requirements
• Familiarity with FAT, SAT and Integrated Systems Testing processes
• Experience working in Design & Build environments
• Strong organisational, coordination and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Project

As a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer:

• Support the development and execution of the mechanical commissioning plan and schedule
• Monitor mechanical installation works prior to testing to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards
• Supervise and witness FATs, SATs and Integrated Systems Testing for mechanical plant and systems
• Coordinate with subcontractors and equipment vendors to ensure commissioning activities are delivered to programme
• Review, manage and close out commissioning documentation including RAMS, test scripts and compliance statements
• Track, manage and close mechanical snags to achieve defect-free handover
• Maintain up-to-date red-line drawings and support the preparation of final handover documentation
• Attend commissioning coordination meetings and provide clear progress updates
• Ensure all commissioning activities are carried out in compliance with site health, safety and environmental requirements
• Support the Commissioning Manager and wider project team throughout the commissioning phase

The Package: Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least €80,000 plus package.
