We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of the build, assembly and testing of skid-mounted mechanical systems for water and wastewater treatment projects across Ireland and the UK.
This role will suit an engineer with strong workshop and fabrication exposure who understands packaged systems such as chemical dosing, filtration and pumping skids and is comfortable overseeing builds from design handover through FAT and delivery. You will work closely with design, production, electrical and quality teams to ensure each system is delivered safely, compliantly and to the highest engineering standards, in line with water industry specifications and regulatory requirements.

Mechanical Engineer Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience managing the build or assembly of skid-mounted or packaged mechanical systems
- Strong background in water or wastewater treatment projects
- Excellent working knowledge of BS/EN standards and WIMES specifications
- Experience interpreting P&IDs, GA drawings and fabrication drawings
- Understanding of pipework fabrication, pressure systems and materials selection
- Familiarity with FAT procedures, inspections and QA/QC documentation
- Knowledge of WRAS-approved components and water industry compliance requirements
- Strong communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams
- Manage the mechanical build of packaged skid systems from design handover through FAT and delivery
- Coordinate with design, fabrication, electrical and controls teams to ensure accurate system integration
- Oversee build sequencing, schedules, materials and subcontractor activities
- Review mechanical drawings and P&IDs to guide fabrication and assembly
- Ensure all builds comply with BS/EN standards, WIMES and relevant water industry regulations
- Implement and maintain QA procedures throughout the build process
- Prepare and manage Inspection & Test Plans, build records and traceability documentation
- Lead and document Factory Acceptance Tests in line with client requirements
- Maintain full asset documentation including certificates, serial numbers and data sheets
- Identify opportunities to improve build efficiency, quality and standardisation
- Support continuous improvement and lessons-learned initiatives
