We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join a construction delivery team working on complex mechanical and process engineering projects in Limerick.
This role will suit an engineer with strong site experience who can take ownership of planning, coordination and technical delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
You will work closely with construction management, commercial teams, workshops and subcontractors to deliver coordinated, compliant installations and achieve a smooth handover of works and documentation to the client.

Senior Project Engineer Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in a project or site engineering role
- Strong background in process or industrial environments, particularly piping fabrication, installation and testing
- Experience preparing and reviewing RAMS and method statements
- Proven ability to manage RFIs, technical queries and constructability reviews
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing variations and small works
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Experience using Navisworks or similar coordination software
- Knowledge of QA/QC processes, testing and inspection requirements
- Management of Safety in Construction (MSIC) qualification is advantageous
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ensure works are planned and delivered in line with safety, quality and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and review RAMS, method statements and safe systems of work
- Resolve RFIs and technical clarifications in a timely and structured manner
- Coordinate with fabrication workshops on prefabrication priorities, testing and documentation
- Prepare work scopes and specifications for subcontract packages including insulation, scaffolding, painting, cleanroom works and HVAC
- Develop bills of quantities, raise requisitions and manage material deliveries to site
- Attend client, subcontractor and internal coordination meetings
- Support mobilisation and demobilisation of site resources, including inductions and record keeping
- Review designs for constructability and raise technical queries as required
- Carry out site surveys and coordinate daily construction activities with site supervision
- Monitor site labour hours, manage dayworks and implement site variations
- Work closely with commercial teams on cost control, valuations and variation pricing
- Prepare and manage testing documentation in line with project quality plans
- Support project reporting and maintain accurate project records on internal systems
- Coordinate QA/QC inspections and ensure subcontractor compliance
- Manage snagging activities through to close-out and final client acceptance
- Prepare handover documentation and support final walkdowns with the client
