You are an experienced Electrical Quality / QC Engineer looking to take the lead on major power and renewable energy projects across Ireland. Joining a progressive engineering contractor with a strong pipeline of work for the next 5 years, you will oversee inspection and testing activities, manage quality processes from pre-construction to handover, and ensure all installations meet the highest technical and regulatory standards.

Electrical QC Engineer – Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or an Electrical trade qualification.

  • 5 years’ experience in quality management within the engineering or construction sectors.

  • Experience in HV/MV substations, transmission & distribution, or cable jointing (advantageous).

  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and quality procedures relevant to power and energy projects.

  • Experience leading root-cause analysis and implementing corrective/preventative actions.

  • ISO9001 auditor certification or similar quality accreditation (desirable).

  • Strong communication and reporting skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to coordinate with engineering, operations, planning, EHS and commissioning teams.

  • Strong organisational ability with a proactive approach to quality, safety and compliance.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites across Ireland.

As an Electrical QC Engineer, you will:
  • Lead by example in promoting a strong culture of safety, quality and teamwork onsite.

  • Develop, maintain and monitor Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), checklists and quality documentation.

  • Manage and track test packs from initial planning through to final handover.

  • Define system boundaries and ensure testing requirements, documentation and verification processes are clearly outlined and adhered to.

  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, commissioning, EHS and client teams to ensure seamless quality control across all project stages.

  • Implement digital quality tools, QR code tracking and data integrity processes across project platforms.

  • Monitor calibration of instruments, testing equipment and project-specific tools.

  • Track snags/issues and drive close-out to maintain project quality and reporting accuracy.

  • Review first-of-kind installations, monitor progress and ensure compliance with technical standards.

  • Support root-cause analysis, corrective actions and lessons-learned workshops with project teams and supply chain partners.

  • Promote continuous improvement and recognise exceptional quality performance onsite.

  • Prepare and compile digital and/or hard-copy QA packs for final project turnover.
