Commissioning Support Engineer – Water Treatment & Data Centre Projects

We are seeking a Commissioning Support Engineer to assist in the preparation, organisation and management of commissioning documentation for major water treatment and data-centre projects across Ireland and Europe based out of Co Kildare.

This role supports the commissioning team by ensuring all documentation is accurate, aligned with project requirements and delivered to internal and external stakeholders on schedule.

You will work closely with commissioning engineers, automation, electrical and process specialists to maintain structured documentation systems, prepare test packages and support the overall commissioning workflow from pre-functional checks to system handover.

Commissioning Support Engineer Skills:

• Strong documentation and technical writing skills with the ability to format and prepare engineering deliverables
• Experience reviewing P&IDs, I/O lists, instrument schedules and vendor documentation
• Ability to support multi-stage commissioning workflows and understand sequences of operation
• Strong IT literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CAD, Revit or Procore is an advantage
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, managing document control and version tracking
• Confident communicator with the ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Capable of working independently and contributing within a team setting
• Degree in Electrical, Automation or related engineering discipline and minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role

As a Commissioning Support Engineer:

• Prepare, edit and maintain commissioning documentation including SOOs, test scripts (L2–L5), FAT/SAT packs and system-specific deliverables
• Maintain document control across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring accuracy, alignment and timely updates
• Support commissioning engineers by assembling documentation packages for each stage of the commissioning process
• Review project information to ensure consistency across commissioning deliverables
• Coordinate updates with project and commissioning leads as system designs evolve
• Manage structured digital filing systems for all commissioning documentation
• Track documentation requirements, identify gaps and ensure all documents meet internal quality standards
• Assist with the continuous improvement of templates, document structures and commissioning workflows
• Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to distribute the correct documentation at the appropriate project stage

The Package: Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least €75,000 plus package, depending on experience.
